What is the most common challenge your clients face?
Manually managing governmental compliance requirements can be difficult, expensive and time consuming, and businesses can face stiff penalties if they don’t get it right. Avalara helps remove this complex burden, allowing businesses to focus their efforts on more important things, like growing their business.
How does Avalara help their clients?
We help businesses of all sizes achieve compliance with sales tax, excise tax, and other transactional tax requirements by delivering comprehensive, automated, cloud-based solutions that are fast, accurate, and easy to use. Our end-to-end suite of solutions are designed to effectively manage complicated and burdensome tax compliance obligations imposed by state, local, and other taxing authorities in the United States and internationally.
Avalara offers hundreds of pre-built connectors into leading accounting, ERP, ecommerce and other business applications. The company processes millions of tax transactions for customers and free users every day, files hundreds of thousands of transactional tax returns per year, and manages millions of exemption certificates and other compliance related documents.
What’s something you wish your clients knew before investing in Avalara’s services?
It’s important for businesses to understand their sales tax requirements and jurisdictions in which they have an obligation to collect sales tax. Many businesses are not aware of the activities than can trigger Nexus, which is what defines whether or not they have an obligation to collect sales tax. For those businesses we recommend a Nexus Study to identify the states in which they have established Nexus and are required to collect sales tax.
