Connecting Online with the Outdoors
Integrating Innovation with Tradition
Portland based outdoor store, Next Adventure, has made a name for itself by providing customers with great gear at competitive prices. However, a poor ecommerce shopping experience and out of date fulfillment systems severely limited their ability grow online revenue. Forix built an online store from the ground up that integrated with a retooled ERP, POS and shipping system to provide a platform that would allow Next Adventure to scale their successful business online well into the future.
After over a decade of serving Portland’s outdoor community, Next Adventure tried to expand their successful business online. However, a poor ecommerce shopping experience and out of date fulfillment systems severely limited their ability grow online revenue. In a highly competitive market, with numerous deal of the day sites springing up across the country, Next Adventure needed a digital shopping experience that differentiates themselves and leverages their connection to the local community.
Forix built an online store from the ground up that integrated with retooled ERP, POS and shipping systems to provide a platform that would allow Next Adventure to scale their successful business online well into the future. Also, because their connection to the local outdoor community was so important to this brick and mortar based business, we created an engaging shopping experience, complete with an interactive Look Book, that translates passion of the NW outdoors into sales.

The thought of a new website was daunting to Next Adventure. We knew we needed a fresh look and a more robust shopping cart for our site, but our resources were not plentiful enough to take us to that level. We knew what we wanted, we just needed to find the right team to build it. We found the perfect fit with Forix. They have impressed us over and over again with their professionalism and attention to detail. The management team has kept us on track and we feel they really listened to what we wanted and also gave us realistic feed back on what we thought we wanted. The Forix staff spent time with our team educating us each step of the way. We are a retail organization, not a think tank of developers or designers, and we absolutely made the right decision by hiring Forix for the job.
